| Synonyms: Locusta camellifolia, Pterophylla furcata, Common True Katydid |
Pterophylla camellifolia occurs in North America east of the Mississippi Valley; from southern Ontario in the north to eastern Texas and Florida in the south. It inhabits canopy of deciduous forests, and feeds on the foliage. Body length 45-55 mm. Nearly flightless. Active from July to October-November.
